South Korea-based Asiana Airlines plans to issue KRW150 billion ($132 million) of perpetual bonds to improve liquidity prior to the introduction of stricter IFRS16 accounting standards.

According to a disclosure by Asiana on 14 March, the carrier’s board approved the offering of 30-year hybrid bonds, with proceeds aimed at working capital and debt repayment.

The bonds will carry an 8.5% coupon and will feature a two-year call option.
